Description, Education and Experience Requirements:
The City of Balch Springs, Texas, (www.cityofbalchsprings.com) is seeking qualified candidates for the position of Chief Financial Officer. Minimum requirements include a degree in Accounting, Finance, or Public Administration and 5 years accounting/finance/audit experience, preferably in a governmental setting. Although not required, CPA, CGFO or other professional certification is preferred. The Chief Financial Officer is responsible for all fiscal operations of the City including all financial accounting, accounts payable and receivable, payroll and investments. The Chief Financial Officer is also responsible for the preparation of reports needed by State and Federal agencies, other City departments, the City Manager, as well as regular reporting to the City Council as required. This position will report to the City Manager.
