This packet has been assembled to explain as many details as possible. It includes a set of guidelines approved by the CGFO Committee and the GFOAT Executive Board on April 25, 2004. The guidelines will be of great importance to CGFO candidates as well as holders of the CGFO credential.
We have also included an application that can be completed. When it is received,
along with a payment for your first exam, you will be notified of your acceptance
into the candidacy program.
Your application and payment should be sent to TML at the address shown on the
application form. Your payment will be deposited and your application will be
forwarded to the Executive Director of GFOAT. Upon approval/acceptance of
your application, a hyperlink to a full set of all five study guides will be sent to you in the form in several PDF files. Someone from the CGFO Committee will follow up with
you to determine when you will be ready to take your first exam(s).
All recordkeeping, exam coordination and grading of exams will be coordinated
by the Executive Director, who will be working together with other CGFO
Committee members to help you progress through the program.
If you are a CGFO or once you become a CGFO, your annual fees will be billed at
the time your GFOAT membership renewal dues are billed. Your CPE
accounting will be self-administered through a Web-enabled system that you will
have access to through a password-protected link to the GFOAT Web site. The
CGFO Committee members will review the hours claimed for each year.
If you have questions after you have read through this packet, contact either the
Executive Director, Becky Brooks (blbrooks@gfoat.org), Suzette Clair (suzette@gfoat.org) or one of the Committee Co-Chairs. Their phone and fax numbers can be found in the online directory at www.gfoat.org.
Again, we are excited about your interest in the program. We are also
appreciative of the support from the current CGFOs. The CGFO program
continues to be recognized as a valuable credential and a major step in
professional development. We look forward to working with you in every way
possible to help you be successful in the CGFO program.
Sincerely,
Becky Brooks, Executive Director
